Working with Oil Pastels
I've been working with acrylics on glass for the past year; a medium I love, but over the holidays I've gotten back into an old favourite - oil pastels.
I love the immediacy of their texture and the workably. The oil pigment can be manipulated with a brush moistened in white spirit or turpentine. Personally, I ‘m not a fan of faffing around in the studio with turps, etc - I prefer a more organic approach (I can hear the purists recoiling).
This piece, "Human Nature No1" is my most recent creation and I'm delighted to say it has already been purchased.
