ARTIST STATEMENT

 

Fiona’s work occupies a space that feels both familiar and ‘other’. Exploring themes of nature and environmental impact;  she works exclusively with cruelty free products on raw burlap; drawing on the fabric’s coarse weave to represent nature in crisis. 

 

At first glance, her pieces appear delicate, yet a closer look reveals gestural marks that are untethered, prompting viewers to reflect on how they perceive the world around them.
